The Picnic

This will take place on Sunday 28th June in the Oxford University Arboretum at Nuneham Courtenay. We will meet in the usual place by the kosolec. Bring your own picnic and drinks, deck chairs, picnic blankets, your kids, grandchildren, and umbrellas - the more umbrellas we bring, the less likely it is to rain. It has been a custom to bring plenty of food and drink and share it with everyone.

It is the garden attached to the Nuneham Courtenay stately home (alas not open the public) the front lawns of which reach down to the Thames, where Lewis Carroll would row the young Alice Liddell and her sisters on a summer afternoon. The azaleas and rhododendrons should still be flowering.
