Events - end 2008/early 2009

There are a number of events taking place in coming months which may be of interest to you:

CHRISTMAS CAROL SERVICE – FRI 5 DEC 2008 6.30PM

The Society will be holding its annual Anglo-Slovene Carol Service at St. Andrew by the Wardrobe Church in London. The service comprises traditional carol singing with readings in both English and Slovene. Join us for Christmas drinks and some potica, after the service. Further details are in flyer attached.

CONCERT BY APZ TONE TOMSIC – FRI 12 DEC 7.30PM

Conducted by Ursa Lah, APZ tone Tomsic is a student choir from the University of Ljubljana. The choir won the European Grand Prix for Choral Singing in 2002 and 2008. The programme comprises classical music and Slovenian folk songs, followed by a reception with free drinks. Admission is free. For further information contact Urban at u.sila@lse.ac.uk

UK-EU NEW YEAR CLASSICAL MUSIC CONCERT - THUR 8 JAN 2009 7PM

The UK-EU Societies are jointly organising a European-themed classical music concert to celebrate the New Year. The concert will be held on Thur 8 Jan 2009 in the Britten Theatre at the Royal College of Music, London, SW7.

Please keep a note in your diary for the 2009 Annual Dinner - Presernov Vecer which is to be held on the evening of Sat 21 Feb 2009. Further details of venue and event will be forthcoming.
